[문법] during / while / as

During / While: 어떤 것을 하는 도중에~

• During 뒤로는 명사, while 뒤로는 완성된 문장 (혹은 ~ing 형식의 동명사)
• 문장 속에서 활용되는 방식이 다를 뿐 의미는 비슷

I fell asleep during the movie.
영화를 보다가 잠들었어.

Did you notice anything strange during your conversation with her?
그녀와 대화를 하다가 이상한 점을 느꼈나요?

• No. I didn't notice anything strange during our conversation.
  아니오. 그녀와 대화를 하면서 이상한 점은 못 느꼈어요.

The pacakge was damaged during shipment.
상품은 배송중에 파손됐다.

Do you mind if I look around while I wait?
기다리는 동안에 좀 둘러봐도 될까요?

You're not supposed to turn the computer off while it's updating.
업데이트를 하고 있는 동안에는 컴퓨터를 끄면 안돼요.

She hurt her back while (she was) playing golf.
그녀는 골프를 치다가 허리를 다쳤습니다.

• during golf: 문법적으로는 되지만 의미적으로 맞지 않음. 골프를 치다라는 행위가 나와야되기 때문에 while playing golf

She saved a lot of money while (she was) working overseas.
그녀는 외국에서 일을 하면서 돈을 많이 모았습니다.

As ~A, B: A라는 일이 있으면서 B라는 일도 같이 생겨서 상황이 변함.

As I was parking my car, I saw a few other empty spots closer to the elevator.
주차를 하다가 엘리베이터랑 더 가까운 위치에 빈 자리가 몇 개 보였어.

The audience all stood up and gave her a big applause as she got off the stage
그녀가 무대에서 내려오는 동안에 관객들이 모두 일어나서 그녀에게 큰 박수를 보냈다.

The students took notes as the teacher gave them importance information about the test.
학생들은 선생님이 시험에 대한 중요한 정보를 주는 동안 받아 적었습니다.

The students thanked the teacher as they left the classroom.
학생들은 교실에서 나가면서 선생님에게 감사하다고 했다.
